Day 1 & 2 - International Flight from Detroit to Auckland.

Day 3
Auckland After settling in at our accommodations in Auckland, you'll have the entire day at leisure
to rest or to enjoy the "City of Sails" on your own. Visit the Sky Tower, New Zealand's highest man-made structure, Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World, take a sail in the harbor or visit any of the other major attractions in this great city. You may also want to consider the Hop-On Hop-off bus that takes you to 14 of Auckland's major point's of interest.
Day 4
Auckland to Waitomo to Rotorua After an early start, our first stop is Waitomo (wai meaning water, tomo meaning cave) where you will get the chance to journey underground on a subterranean adventure at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. You'll discover an underground labyrinth of limestone caves and formations and the hardy little glowworms are oblivious to the huge number of admirers they have been receiving over the past 100 years and they keep glowing to attract their food in the caves.
Day 5 Rotorua Spend the entire day in Rotorua where you’ll have a chance to enjoy the famous sheep show at the Agrodome featuring 19 breeds of sheep. The rest of the day is on your own. Feel free to pamper yourself at one of the geothermal spas or visit the geothermal reserve of Te Puia that features New Zealand’s largest geyser. In the evening there is an optional tour to the Tamaki Maori Village including a traditional Maori hangi (feast) and concert.
Day 6 Rotorua to Taupo Morning departure for Taupo known as the adventure capital of the North Island. Visit the area’s lakes and Taupo’s famous Huka Falls or go horse trekking through the gorgeous pine forests and Craters of the Moon thermal area. Taupo is also home to many adrenalin pumping activities such as skydiving, bungy jumping and jet boating as well as the Volcanic Centre and the spectacular Tongariro Crossing!
Day 7 Taupo to Wellington We spend the entire morning in Taupo where you can take an optional kayak or boat tour around the scenic Mine Bay of Lake Taupo to see the famous Maori rock carving. Depart after lunch for Wellington. Arrive in Wellington in the early evening.
Day 8 Wellington We spend the entire day in Wellington, the undisputed capital of culture, the arts, restaurants, fashion and nightlife. It’s home to the largest cultural attraction in New Zealand, Te Papa Museum, which is well worth a look. The Wellington Cable Car is one of Wellington’s oldest & most popular tourist attractions. The cars run from Lambton Quay to the top entrance of the Wellington Botanic Gardens.
Day 9
Wellington to Nelson In the morning we take the Interislander ferry across
the stunning Cook Strait to the seaside town of Picton in the South Island, through the magnificent Marlborough Sounds. Travel via the Pelorous Bridge to Nelson, New Zealand’s sunniest city.
Day 10 Nelson to Kaiteriteri to Nelson Morning departure for Kaiteriteri where we spend the day marveling at the beauty of the golden sandy beaches of Abel Tasman National Park. Embark on your adventure on foot through the native New Zealand forest, by kayak or by water taxi. Then at the end of the day we will take the bus back to Nelson where you can enjoy their lively arts scene and night life.
Day 11 Nelson to Punakaiki Today we cruise down the spectacular Highway 6 that stretches along the rugged Tasman shoreline. The road winds along diverse landscapes, which never cease to amaze both locals and visitors alike. Take the stunning walk of the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks before arriving at our accommodations.
Day 12 Punakaiki to Franz Joseph Glacier Spend the morning relaxing or taking a walk along the stunning West Coastline. After lunch we head on out for our journey through Westland to the quaint village of Franz Joseph. Arrive there on time to explore the various walks in the area or catch the perfect mirror reflection of Mt. Cook and the Southern Alps on Lake Matheson.
Day 13 Franz Josef Enjoy a full day in Franz Joseph where you will have the chance to hike on the Franz Josef Glacier, rated as one of the top three activities to do in New Zealand. You could also take the option of a heli-hike where you will be flown up the glacier by helicopter.
Day 14
Franz Josef to Queenstown We depart Franz Joseph this morning for our journey to Queenstown, rated as one of the most picturesque places in the world. We arrive in Queenstown late in the afternoon.
Day 15 Queenstown to Milford Sound Recently ranked as the worlds most beautiful places, the Milford Sound is a must-do for those visiting the South Island. The Milford Explorer departs Queenstown early and stops at the picturesque Te Anau township on the lake before heading through the Homer Tunnel into Milford. Once there, you will go on an unforgettable two hour boat cruise through the sound exploring soaring peaks, towering waterfalls and New Zealand nature at its best checking out the most amazing scenery in New Zealand along the way. See incredible views of mirror lakes, mountains and cascading waterfalls on this one day trip. Then it’s back on the bus to take you back to the adventure capital.
Day 16
Queenstown You have the entire day to enjoy Queenstown. Make the most of the beautiful lake and surrounding walks, or get into a whole range of adrenalin pumping activities. You may also take an optional cruise on the vintage steamship, TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak High Country Farm where you will have a delicious traditional Kiwi buffet luncheon and a tour of the farm.
Day 17 Depart Queenstown for flight back to US Spend the morning at leisure, shopping or taking in any of the exciting attractions of this wonderful resort town. After lunch, depart Queeenstown for flight to Auckland and then board our international flight back to the US. Cross the international dateline and gain a day.
